Assistant Professor of Computer ScienceUrsinus College seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science to join the Mathematics and Computer Science department beginning Fall 2010. A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field by Fall 2010 and teaching experience are required. All fields will be considered, but preference will be given to individuals working in Algorithms, Theoretical Computer Science, Computer Networking, or Computer Graphics. The successful candidate must be committed to teaching excellence in a liberal arts setting, establishing a program of scholarly activity, and advising student independent projects and internships. The ability to teach a wide variety of undergraduate computer science courses is required. Interest in teaching an occasional course in mathematics is a plus. The new hire will also be expected to teach the interdisciplinary freshman seminar program occasionally. The teaching load is five courses per year (3/2).
