Randolph named second-team Academic All-America
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus senior first baseman David Randolph (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) was named as a second-team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America on Tuesday.

Randolph advanced to the national ballot after being named first-team Academic All-District several weeks ago.

To be eligible, candidates must have a 3.3 GPA or higher, be at least at sophomore, and have participated in 50 percent of a team’s contest.

Randolph, a first-team All-Centennial section at first base, made history this season as he became the all-time hits leader in Ursinus history with 163. He finished his career at 198 hits, which is third-best in Centennial history. He was the team leader in batting average at .407, while collecting a team-high 57 hits. He also holds team-highs in doubles (9) and RBI (98). At his first base position, he has a .994 fielding percentage, with just one error in 276 chances. He is also an All-Centennial All-Academic selection. He currently holds a 3.51 GPA in biochemistry and molecular biology.

He was also named to the Centennial Conference Director’s Team for being first-team All-Centennial and All-Academic in the Centennial Conference
