Bears eighth in CC pre-season poll
LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus College women’s basketball team was picked eighth in the 2009-10 Centennial Conference pre-season coaches poll on Wednesday afternoon. The poll was voted upon by the head coaches and sports information directors in the Centennial.

Ursinus got 66 points in the poll. Muhlenberg was the top pick with 200 points and 20 first-place votes. McDaniel was second with 157 points and two first-place votes, followed by Johns Hopkins in third at 145.

Dickinson was fourth (143) followed by Gettysburg (142), Swarthmore (110) and Franklin & Marshall (108).

Following Ursinus, Washington was ninth place at 56 points, followed by Haverford (53) and Bryn Mawr (21).

Ursinus opens the season on Saturday, November 21, as the Bears take on Rowan University in the Albright Tip-Off tournament.
