Johnson named CoSIDA Academic All-District

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus senior cross country/track runner Christa Johnson (West Berlin, NJ/Bishop Eustace Prep) was named first-team Academic All-District in track and cross country by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Friday afternoon.

Johnson was named first-team in the College Division in District II, which includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

Johnson won numerous awards in both cross country and track. In cross country, she won the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional with a time of 22:01. During the regular season, she was Centennial Conference Runner of the Week in Cross Country five times. During the dual meet season, she won five out of six dual meets.

In track, she was named the outstanding track performer at both the indoor and outdoor Centennial Conference championships. At the indoor championship, she won the one-mile, 3k and 5k runs. During the outdoor season, she won the steeplechase at the Centennial Conference championships with a time of 11:03.71 and the 5k with a meet record time of 17:23.55.

She was a two-time All-Centennial All-Academic selection this season with a GPA of 3.91.

She will now advance to the national ballot for consideration as an Academic All-America.
