Davis named first-team all-east region by NFCA

STARKVILLE, Kan. – Ursinus College junior softball pitcher Lauren Davis (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) first-team All-East region on Tuesday afternoon.

Davis, who was picked as an at-large selection, now advances to the national ballot for consideration as an All-American selection.

Davis won 26 games this season, the second-highest season total in Centennial Conference history. Her 316 strikeouts is season was the second-highest total in a season by a pitcher, bettered only by her 335 last season. She is the career leader in strikeouts in the Centennial at 790. She finished with a 0.80 ERA this season. She was a repeat selection to the All-Centennial first-team, and earned Pitcher of the Year honors in the Centennial Conference for the second-straight time.

Ursinus finished 28-10 overall this season.
