Mathematics and Computer Science provide a foundation for enhancing society and bringing order to a chaotic world by transforming data into information.

In the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Ursinus College, you will meet students interested in pursuing careers in actuarial science, systems analysis, computer programming, information technology, teaching, law, consulting, commodity management, public health, and business. Students in both upper- and lower-level courses receive individual attention from the faculty. Professors take student-centered approaches to teaching, and in many courses students work in pairs or teams. The department maintains a Math Help Room, staffed by advanced students, where student tutors have the chance to gain part-time pre-professional experience, help their peers, and develop communication skills.
