Meet Our Southern California Liaisons

Nikolai Bildzukewicz '97

Alumni Representative

After graduating from Ursinus, I attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Upon graduation in 2001, I was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. I then completed a general surgery internship at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. Following that internship, I served several months as a General Medical Officer (GMO) at Naval Hospital Great Lakes, providing medical care to recruits going through "boot camp." I then reported for training at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Pensacola, FL. where I graduated as a Naval Flight Surgeon. I spent the next two years on active duty as a flight surgeon, providing medical care to military pilots, aircrew, and sailors both ashore and at sea. In 2005, I returned to Jefferson to complete my general surgery training. In 2012, I completed fellowship training in minimally-invasive, bariatric and robotic surgery at the Unviersity of California San Diego. I am currently Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine at USC as well as the Associate Program Director for the general surgery residency.

I currently reside in Orange County and I am happily married to a sister of an Ursinus alumna.  We have two young children  and a third on the way (all likely future Ursinus students).  I am a proud to be an alumnus of Ursinus College, and I am looking forward to fostering a connection between prospective and current students, their proud parents, and the growing number of alumni in Southern California.

I am a PA-C class of 1996 graduate with a BS in Biology with a minor in Psychology. A native of South Jersey, I played tennis for 3 years at Ursinus and worked part time in the Alumni office, Student Activities office and was a TA in Microbiology. I moved out to Southern California to attend Physician Assistant school right after graduation and ended up marrying a classmate. I couldn't get him to move to the Northeast so we've made our life here in Orange County with our 2 daughters, a 2 year old and a 6 year old.
