Applied Ethics

Applied Ethics is an interdisciplinary minor that explores ethical issues in every area of life, including:

  • medicine
  • business
  • politics
  • law
  • the environment

Courses in the minor seek to develop the student’s ability to think critically about moral considerations in various contexts.  Courses are drawn from the departments of philosophy, politics, environmental studies, business and economics, and sociology.  The minor is a valuable supplement to a variety of undergraduate majors.

CENTER FOR SCIENCE AND THE COMMON GOOD

Ursinus College has taken the bold step of creating a program with the goal of producing citizen-scientists who can confront the ethical implications of their work — scientists for the 21st Century with the expertise needed for research, but also the judgment to decide which scientific endeavors best advance the common good.
