Beyond the Classroom

Back to the Sciences >

Students majoring in one of the sciences, can take advantage of many special opportunities while at Ursinus. All Ursinus students must complete an Independent Learning Experience (ILE) as part of the liberal studies curriculum. The ILE can be fulfilled by performing research with an Ursinus faculty member, or research or an internship with an off-campus mentor. ILE can also be fulfilled by a study abroad or student teaching.

In addition to the ILE requirements, and in some cases fulfilling this requirement, students majoring in the Sciences may take part in the following off-campus experiences:

UC in Mexico Semester
Sea Education - Woods Hole, MA
Ursinus in the Tropics
National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory
