Student Employment

The Federal Work Study (FWS) Program provides funding for part-time employment for students.  Students are expected to seek part-time employment on campus in order to earn the dollars that are a part of the financial aid package.  Most students work an average of 8 to 10 hours per week, and the pay is minimum wage or greater.  Students are paid bi-weekly and may use their earnings for personal expenses or save for future college expenses.  The FWS award MAY NOT be deducted from the student bill.

Federal Work Study jobs are not guaranteed; however, students with FWS in their financial aid package will be given priority when seeking employment. If a student is not able to secure a job at the beginning of the academic year he or she is encouraged to check back often because campus jobs become available regularly throughout the year.

Finding Campus Jobs is easy, just go to  and click on “View Campus Jobs”.   This link will allow you to see which offices are currently accepting applications for vacant student jobs.  There is also a link called “Working On Campus” which explains the payroll process.

Please note that no student working on campus is permitted to work during scheduled classroom time.
