Ursinus College seeks in its mission to “nurture a sense of community by empowering the intellect, awakening moral sensitivity and challenging students to improve society” while also seeking to “enable students to become independent, responsible and thoughtful individuals.” Through its programming, education, and collaborative problem-solving, the Office of Sustainability promotes the fulfillment of this mission both in individual students and in the campus community.
The mission of the Office of Sustainability is to:
Educate members of the campus community about environmental sustainability through programming, training, educational materials, and communications.
Promote and facilitate skill development for students and help them develop as environmentally responsible individuals and members of the Ursinus community by working with them on sustainability projects/programming, and through mentoring.
Assist the College in meeting its goal of becoming climate neutral by working integrally with academic and non-academic departments on campus to lower our greenhouse gas emissions through collaboration and strategic problem-solving.
