Associate Administrative Assistant

The Athletic Dept seeks a qualified student to serve as an Associate Administrative Assistant. This person will help with administrative tasks including, but not limited to: scheduling, contracts, officials (coordination of), handbook editing, in-service preparation, ncaa compliance.

The qualified individual with have strong computer skills (familiarity with Outlook calendars, Microsoft Office) and have strong interpersonal skills – approximately 20 hrs/week

Associate Sports Manager

This position requires a significant amount of responsibility. Duties would include layout and supervise the painting of athletic fields, scheduling student workers for home games. Must be available to work all football games both home and away.

Associate Sports Information Director

The Ursinus College Sports Information seeks an individual to assist the Sports Information Director with the day-to-day operations of the office as the Associate Sports Information Director

Duties will include preparing game-day programs, compiling statistics for all 25 varsity athletic teams, maintenance of the athletics website, reporting of scores to the local and hometown media in addition to weekly reporting, overseeing student-workers, helping with coverage of home athletic events and selected road contests and other duties assigned by the director.

The ideal candidate will have interest in sports marketing, statistics, broadcasting or sports writing. Evening and weekend work is required along with a willingness to travel. Must possess an ability to work well independently, energetically, creatively and under strict deadlines.

Sports Information Assistants

 Will record game activity or assist sports information director in recording game activity for intercollegiate athletics contests. Requires general knowledge of sports. Flexible hours needed as well as weekend hours.

First responder

Assist with pre-event preparation:

  • Fill and place water, water bottles, and ice coolers for practices and games
  • Apply taping and wrapping procedures as directed by athletic trainer
  • Perform stretching exercises on athletes as directed by athletic trainer

Responsibilities during event:

  • Administer First Aid and CPR as needed (certification by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required)
  • Assist with the implementation of the emergency action plan
  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines regarding prevention of transmission of bloodborne pathogens (certification by the American Red Cross required)
  • Perform stretching exercises on athletes as directed by athletic trainer
  • Refill water and ice coolers as needed

Assist with post-event activities

  • Collect water, water bottles, and ice coolers from practice and game venues
  • Empty and clean coolers and bottles, and replace on shelves in designated storage area
  • Collect all medical equipment and walkie talkies from practice and game venues and replace in designated area
  • Assist with the cleaning of the athletic training room by using the “daily cleaning checklist” as a guide and following the OSHA guidelines for the prevention of transmission of bloodborne pathogens

Football Filmer/ Manager

Film all practices during pre-season camp, Tuesday and Wednesday practices during the season and games on Saturdays throughout the season. After practices and games, filmers will be responsible for downloading footage. Travel will be required for away games, transportation and meals will be provided. Additionally responsibilities include setting up meals during camp and setting up the field for practice.

 

Football- Team manager

The football team manager will help the coaching staff prepare and set up for practices and games. The manager will film practices and help the coaching staff in video editing. Filmed practices during the season will take place on all Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:00-6:30 PM. Additionally, the manager will film our scrimmage and all games on Saturdays. Travel and meals for away games will be provided.

Qualifications
Any Ursinus College student interested in being involved with the Ursinus football team. Knowledge of the game of football is a plus, but not required.

Service Desk Worker - Fitness Center

Students will be responsible for cleaning and maintenance of fitness center equipment, insuring that all User Applications are correctly completed and entered into the computer, manipulating data when necessary, and providing users with help on the various machines when requested. Workers will be certified in CPR, AED & OSHA procedures as part of the job. It is preferable that workers successfully complete ESS 100 and ESS 220 prior to applying to work in the center.

Game Announcer

Game announcer serve as the voice of Ursinus College Athletics during selected sporting events. Game announcers will assist with introductions of starting lineups, goals, points, assists during contests. Previous public speaking experience helpful, but not required. Training will be provided. Availability during evenings/weekends preferred.

Game Day Worker

Work athletic events. Duties include game clock operation and other duties. No need to apply online, simply complete the following form that pertains to you, and drop it in the mail bin outside of the FLB Field House Equipment Room, Lower Level.

Looking for a reliable, organized, detail-oriented person to assist with athletic recruiting for approx. 3-5 hours per week. Office hours are M-F 9:00 to 5:00. Will work with your schedule, but Fridays are a must.
