Campus Center Manager

The Leadership Development & Student Activities Staff at Ursinus College invites you to apply for the position of Campus Center Manager (CCM). We are seeking responsible, energetic, self-motivated and goal-oriented individuals with a general knowledge of the campus to join our team. Candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, have computer experience, and must be willing to work evenings and weekends. Additionally, applicants should have previous A/V experience or demonstrate a strong ability to learn equipment set ups. The position of Campus Center Manager is a one-year appointment effective at the start of the Fall semester and ending the day of graduation.

Any student holding the position of Campus Center Manager must be able to perform the following:

  • Arrive to shifts on time, remain at the CCM station for the duration of the shift
  • Shift times: Sun-Wed 5:00pm-12:00am, Thu-Sat 5:00pm-2:00am
  • Be able and willing to work on the scheduled weekend shifts assigned at the beginning of the semester.
  • Monitor all rooms and areas of Wismer during hourly rounds, providing a detailed count of how many people use the Student Center facilities and noting the condition of the building.
  • Set up any movies, music, microphones, and speakers requested. (Training will be given at the beginning of the semester)
  • Provide general housekeeping duties as required especially for events held in Wismer Lower Lounge (these include but are not limited to: vacuuming, sweeping, moping, rearranging furniture, picking up trash, and removing outdated posters)
  • Assist in the set-up and implementation of any events occurring in the Wismer Lower Lounge during shift, including Late Night Lower.
  • Assist the Office of Leadership Development & Student Activities with office work (making copies, running on-campus errands, etc.)
  • Organize the equipment closet.
  • Keep track of and maintain the pool equipment and darts.
  • Be willing to work at least 1 shift during finals.
  • Be able to stay on campus until graduation
  • Attend weekly staff meetings

Office Assistant

The Leadership Development & Student Activities Office Staff at Ursinus College invites you to apply for the position of Office Assistant. We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated and goal-oriented individual that has a general knowledge of the campus to join our team. Candidates should possess strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, have computer experience, and should be willing to work shifts between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The position of Office Assistant is a one-year appointment.

Any student holding the position of Office Assistant should be able to perform the following duties:

•Greet students, parents, faculty, and staff as they enter the office area

•Answer the department telephone and direct calls as necessary

•Complete organizational and clerical tasks

•Serve as a campus courier to various campus locations

•Assist students, faculty, and staff with AFAC reimbursements, posters, Powerpoint slides, event sign-ups and advertisement, balloon orders, and student organization requests.

•Assist with daily office operations, programs, and events

•Other duties as assigned - from one day to the next, you will likely be assigned very different projects of various scopes! Be prepared to synthesize and utilize ALL of your talents here!

Programming Associate

The Leadership Development & Student Activities Office at Ursinus College invites you to apply for the position of Programming Associate. We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated and goal-oriented individual with a strong knowledge of the campus and its policies to join our team. Candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, have computer experience, and be willing to work evenings and weekends. Students holding the position of Programming Associate should be able to perform the following duties:

  • Move and setup audio/visual equipment including speakers, soundboards, lights, projectors, game systems (Xbox, Wii), and televisions. (Some speakers weigh between 50-100 lbs.)
  • Provide primary supervision of the Campus Center Managers.
  • Serve as a member of the student worker selection and evaluation committee, create and maintain the Campus Center Managers schedule, and review all on-duty reports.
  • Train the Campus Center Managers in equipment setups, Late Night Lower programming, and overall use of the Wismer Student Center.
  • Conduct staff meetings as necessary.
  • Assist campus organizations as well as students interested in starting campus organizations related but not limited to room reservations, AFAC funding, fundraising, etc.
  • Work closely with the Campus Activities Board (CAB) in the planning of all CAB activities.
  • Attend regular meetings of USGA and CAB.
  • Assist in general office responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain the Student Activities website, Wufoo form builder, email, and the internal announcement system (slides on the TVs in the Wismer Center).
  • Inventory and organize Student Activities equipment and supplies.
  • Assist the LD/SAO professional staff in the preparation for all special events occurring in Wismer Student Center including set-up for audio/video requests or technical support. Additionally, other campus locations when utilized by campus groups.
  • Oversee special projects (ie. VIP Late Night Lower, game tournaments) as they may arise in the Leadership Development & Student Activities Office.
  • Other duties as assigned .

Summer Associate

The Leadership Development & Student Activities Office at Ursinus College invites you to apply for the position of Summer Associate. We are seeking a responsible, energetic, self-motivated and goal-oriented individual with a general knowledge of the campus to join our team. Candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, have computer experience, and must be able to work 35 hours a week Monday – Friday between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM. Additionally, applicants should have previous A/V experience or demonstrate a willingness to learn equipment set-ups. The position of Summer Associate is an appointment effective May 14-June 30 and August 1-August 26.

· Be willing to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends) during New Student Orientation in both June and August, and must take an active role in the activities and events occurring at these times.
· Support the Leadership Development & Student Activities Office in daily operations. Including but not limited to answering phones, making room reservations, calling prospective students and parents, sending out correspondence related to orientation, advertising for events, etc.
· Assist in the set-up and implementation of any events occurring in the Wismer Lower Lounge, such as Late Night Lower, Summer Fellows socials, and August Orientation Dance Party, etc.
· Provide general housekeeping duties as required following events held in Wismer Lower Lounge including but not limited to vacuuming, rearranging furniture, picking up trash, and removing outdated posters.
· Inventory and organize Student Activities equipment and supplies.
· Maintain the Student Activities website, Wufoo form builder, email, and the internal announcement system (slides on the TVs in the Wismer Center).
· Attend regular staff meetings.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license. Have ability to certify to drive a college van.
· Other duties as assigned.
