Counseling services are available to all full time UC students. The Office is located within the Wellness Center on campus. Our staff provides free, confidential services to students and utilize a SHORT TERM SOLUTION-FOCUSED model of counseling which means that these sessions focus exclusively on issues/concerns AT HAND. Students and their counselors will identify issues to address as well as treatment goals in their sessions. If ongoing or continuous therapy is required, students will be referred to an appropriate provider in the community. If a student requires medication management or more specialized care, referrals will be made.
Individual counseling sessions are provided for 8 to 10 sessions per academic year. During peak times of the semester, there may be a higher demand for counseling. At such times, a waiting list may develop. Students have the option of waiting for a convenient available time and/or being referred to a local off-campus provider. (*Please see Off-Campus Mental Health Provider List under the Resource Room.) Our counseling staff offers a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment.
Students seeking counseling must first complete an intake form at the Wellness Center. All sessions are made by appointment only and staff will do their very best to accommodate students based on the student’s availability. The Wellness Center is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. They can be contacted at 610-409-3100 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you feel that you are currently in crisis, please call Campus Safety at 610-409-3333 or go to the nearest Emergency Room or call 911 immediately.
