Melissa Sanders Giess joined the Residence Life staff at Ursinus in 2006. She provides leadership and direction for the Assistant Director and Resident Advisor programs, housing selection & assignment processes, crisis management, and residential disciplinary procedures. Dean Giess' involvement on campus includes participation in the Home Team efforts of the Teagle Grant, the Race & Equality Committee, and student retention initiatives. She also serves on the Student Activities and Services Committee and the Safety Committee. Before coming to Ursinus, Dean Giess served as both a Residence Director at the George Washington University and the Coordinator of Academic Affairs at Franklin & Marshall College. She holds a BA in English from West Chester University in West Chester, PA, and the MSEd in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania.
