Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Spanish 

The Department of Modern Languages at Ursinus College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish, beginning fall 2014. Specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates with an active research agenda based on interdisciplinary approaches in Peninsular and Latin American language, literature and cultural production. Candidates must have a native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English and are expected to teach all levels of the Spanish program. Familiarity with language learning technology and/or pedagogy is highly desirable. We seek candidates who can create new interdisciplinary courses across campus in English and expand the Spanish program while developing research opportunities and independent learning experiences for our undergraduate students. Finally, candidates should be committed to a liberal arts education for their students. Regular participation in the college’s interdisciplinary first-year student seminar (CIE- Common Intellectual Experience; is expected of all faculty. Ph.D. required by August 1st, 2014.
