Dr. Colette Trout, teaches French culture through literature, films and current events.  She has taught all levels of French, and is teaching two new advanced courses “The ‘Others’ in French Society” and “Rebels, Villains and Criminals in French and Francophone Literature”. Her area of research is contemporary French women writers and among her latest publications, she has two books on Marie Cardinal and Violette Leduc. She is currently co-editing a collection of essays on “Rebels and Criminals in Women Authors Writing in French” and preparing a monograph on the controversial writer Marie Darrieussecq.  Dr. Trout is the past president and an active member of Women in French, an international organization devoted to the study of women in literatures and cultures of the French-speaking world. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Chile in her past life.
