Our Mission:

To provide help with the transition to college academics through organization, time management, goal setting, study tips, and resource information.  Under the supervision of  Yuriko Beaman, the UC Academic Associates are ready and willing to help with the following:

  • Preparing to talk with faculty and advisors
  • Referrals to tutors, help sessions, Center for Writing, and Wellness Center
  • Identifying technology resources
  • Picking major and classes

We will be working with the Academic Success Project during the spring 2014 semester.  The majority of our workshops will be on Tuesdays at 8:30pm in Olin 108. Brittany George ‘15

Student Academic Associate
Hi my name is Brittany George.  I am a Chemistry major and in the 2015 graduating class.  If I am not on the third floor of Pfahler doing research, most likely I am running around campus stopping every five seconds to talk to someone.  I am currently the Vice President of the class of 2015 and a UC Ambassador.  If you cannot find me, just look for the girl in purple with Vera Bradley accessories.  I believe that by pursuing and utilizing every resource available one can rise above their struggles and achieve success.  I look forward to working with the incoming freshman and anyone else who needs help throughout this school year.

Rachel Polinski ‘14

Student Academic Associate
My name is Rachel Polinski and I am a Biochemistry Molecular Biology major and Mathematics and Chemistry minor in the 2014 graduating class, on track to becoming a doctor.  I am currently a Writing Fellow, a PASS and one-on-one Chemistry tutor, a member of the Wind Ensemble and a member of the Meistersingers choir, and am involved in numerous other clubs on campus. If you don’t find me throughout Pfahler with my lab goggles on, I’m most likely running around campus to my next activity!  I believe that creating a schedule, asking questions and utilizing every resource available (including email!) can help students be successful!
