Melissa Sanders Giess

   Melissa Sanders Giess joined the Residence Life staff at Ursinus in 2006.  She provides leadership and direction for the Assistant Director and Resident Advisor programs, housing selection & assignment processes, crisis management, and residential disciplinary procedures.  Melissa’s involvement on campus includes participation in the Home Team efforts of the Teagle Grant, the Race & Equality Committee, and student retention initiatives.  She also serves on the Student Activities and Services Committee and the Safety Committee.  Before coming to Ursinus, Melissa served as both a Residence Director at the George Washington University and the Coordinator of Academic Affairs at Franklin & Marshall College.  She holds a BA in English from West Chester University in West Chester, PA, and the MSEd in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania.

Reese McKnight

Reese McKnight joined the Residence Life staff at Ursinus in 2010.  She supervises the Graduate Assistant for Alcohol Education and Wellness Programming and the RA staff for first-year centers.  Reese’s responsibilities as an AD include providing educational and social programming for first-year residents, guiding students through the disciplinary process, and participating in the College’s 24-hour crisis response team.  Her involvement on campus includes participation in the Home Team efforts of the Teagle Grant and serving as the advisor to Fighting for Ophelia, a student organization dedicated to ending relational aggression.  Before coming to Ursinus, Reese served as the Assistant Director of Residence Life at Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. She holds a BA in Environmental Science from Rollins College and an MA in Organizational Leadership from Columbia University.

   Lynda Manz is the Office Assistant for the V.P. of Student Affairs/Dean of Students and the Residence Life office. She has worked at Ursinus College for over 25 years. She enjoys the beauty of the campus and living in the Collegeville community. She has insights on many aspect of life in the area. Lynda enjoys an active life outside of Ursinus. She loves spending time with her grandchildren and is active in her church.

   Colleen Valerio joined the Residence Life staff in 2012.  Colleen's responsibilities as an AD include providing educational and social programming for upper-class residents, guiding students through the disciplinary process, participating in the College’s 24-hour crisis response team, and is involved in the Ursinus College LGBT Ally program.  Colleen graduated from the University of Delaware in 2011 with a BS in Human Services, and from West Chester University in 2013 with her Masters in Counseling in Higher Education and Student Affairs.

Amber Moyer '14

Amber Moyer joined the Residence Life team her junior year as a Resident Advisor in North Hall. As a senior, Amber is now a member of the Residence Life professional staff. As the Senior Associate, Amber’s primary role is to provide oversight for the Special Interest (SPINT) Housing initiative at Ursinus College. Additionally, Amber oversees the Resident Advisor program and works as a role model and mentor for the staff. Amber also serves as the only student member off the Crisis Response Team. As an Ursinus student, Amber is currently working towards a BS in Biology and a Coaching minor and she is a member of the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse team. After Ursinus, Amber hopes to enter medical school and pursue a career as a pediatrician.
