Thank you to everyone who supported the 4th Annual Young Alumni Challenge!

And the winner is...BPS! Based on young alumni votes submitted as part of this challenge, BPS reigns as the favorite freshman res hall for the classes of 2004-2013. Congratulations to the class of 2012 for finishing the year with the highest participation rate.

As a result of our first ever young alumni giving day on June 18, over 100 donors have participated in our #ResHallChallenge and you raised a total of $1,865 in one day. Thank you again to all those who donated and spread the word yesterday. You really have proven that #UCGOLDsgive.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Young Alumni Res Hall Challenge?

Each year, the Ursinus College Young Alumni Council and the Office of Advancement present an annual giving challenge to raise awareness and participation among our Graduates Of the Last Decade (GOLDs). The theme for this year is a Res Hall Challenge.

We encourage you to vote for your favorite UC freshman res hall when you make a gift to the Ursinus Annual Fund. You can also share your best memories and photos from your freshman year.

How do I make my vote count?

Make a gift to the Ursinus Annual Fund and cast your vote in the comments field of the donation page. Each gift you make counts as one vote.*

You can vote as many times as you would like during the course of the challenge (through June 30, 2014).

1) Make your gift online, and cast your vote in the Additional Information section on the second page.

2) Mail a check to Ursinus College, Office of Advancement, 601 E. Main St., Collegeville, PA 19426. Make your check payable to Ursinus College and write your vote in the memo field.

3) Call the Office of Advancement at 1-877-GIVE-2-UC or 610-409-3585.

*Set up a recurring gift and receive an extra vote for your favorite res hall. With a recurring gift, you can split up payments over a period of time. For example, an annual donation of $100 can be made with an automatic credit card charge of $20 per month over 5 months.

*Event registrations and unpaid pledges do not count toward participation or votes.

Don’t forget, as Young Alumni, you are offered membership into the President's Circle at a discounted rate. Members of the President's Circle enjoy exclusive events throughout the year. Annual giving levels are determined by class year:

2013 = $100          2012-2008 = $250          2007-2004 = $500

Celebrating your 5th or 10th reunion this year? This counts toward your class gift!

What does my gift support?

Your gift supports the Ursinus College Annual Fund which provides essential, unrestricted funding that touches every corner of the campus and shapes the Ursinus Experience. As a student at UC, your education and experiences were supported in many ways by the Annual Fund.

UC’s budget for financial aid increases every year and the college relies on gifts from alumni to help meet the full, demonstrated need of all admitted students. Through the Annual Fund, you can give the gift of education to an Ursinus student.

High alumni participation shows that our alumni feel Ursinus is a worthy cause to invest in, increasing our chances that others will invest in UC too. This is particularly important when seeking outside funding and grants.

What’s in it for me?

Your gift is an investment in the value of your degree:

Your gift – of any size and to any area of need on campus – counts toward alumni participation. Our alumni participation rate is a factor in our ranking in the U.S. News & World Report, a tool used by many prospective students when choosing a college. Therefore, gifts to Ursinus will improve the education of current students, as well as the reputation of the College, which in turn, makes your Ursinus degree (and you!) a more valuable commodity.

You could win fun prizes:

“UC swag” will be awarded as prizes for liking stories and posts during the challenge. Receive one raffle entry for submitting your stories and one entry for each time you like a Res Hall Challenge post from the Ursinus College Young Alumni Facebook page.

Set up a recurring gift while making your donation to receive an extra vote for your favorite res hall.
