Ursinus Hosts Inaugural Bear2Bear Benefit & Bash

On April 11, 2019, Ursinus College hosted its first Bear2Bear Benefit & Bash, which honored Joan and Will Abele ’61 and raised important funds for students in need.

Alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends all came together for a night of food and fun. At the event, Ursinus recognized the Abeles with its inaugural Bear2Bear Impact Award for Service and Leadership. Central to the evening were silent and live auctions, which, when combined with sponsorships, helped the college to raise nearly $200,000 for the Bear2Bear Student Emergency Fund. The Fund provides grants to students facing financial burdens brought on by an unexpected crisis or emergencies. It was established in 2017 by the Abeles.
