Students Present Research on the Introduction of Robotics into Surgical Departments
Students, Angela Gervasi and Shannon Blessing, presented their research at the 2020 Eastern Sociology Society Annual Meeting, recently held in Philadelphia, PA. Angela and Shannon presented their poster titled Robots and Cleanliness: Does Hospital Size Matter? in the Undergraduate Poster Session, held on 2/29/20. The research is based on 18 months of study as part of The Patient Safety in Medicine Work-Group, where they are studying the patient safety implications of introducing robotics into surgical departments. In their latest work, Angela and Shannon examined how organizational processes influence robotic sanitation. The students will present a version of their research during the 2020 CoSA event.
