Ursinus Ranked No. 2 on List of Best Colleges for Financial Aid in Pennsylvania

LendEDU, a website that helps consumers learn about and compare financial products such as student loans, has ranked Ursinus No. 2 in Pennsylvania—and No. 31 in the nation—on its list of Best Colleges for Financial Aid in 2020.

Each year, LendEDU uses data from the Peterson’s Undergraduate Financial Aid Database and the National Center for Education Statistics’ Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System to rank which four-year colleges and universities provide the most financial aid to their students. This year’s rankings are based on data that reflects the 2018-19 academic year.

Schools were ranked according to their average financial aid offerings for need-based financial aid (60% weight), non-need-based financial aid (34% weight), and financial aid for international students (6% weight).

Ursinus had a total score of 81.326 (the highest nationally was 90.348) after recording a need-based score of 89.986, a non-need-based score of 72.207, and an international score of 46.4.

For 2018-2019 Ursinus administered more than $65 million in financial aid—over $45 million in the form of scholarships and grants that do not have to repaid.

Prospective first-year students can apply for financial aid now by completing the FAFSA. The deadline to apply for financial aid is the same as our admission application deadlines:

November 1: Early Action
December 1: Early Decision 1
February 1: Early Decision 2 and Regular Decision

Returning students must complete the FAFSA and submit all verification paperwork by April 1 each year.

The Office of Student Financial Services provides instruction and counseling on applying for need-based financial aid; determines eligibility for such funding; and offers guidance on financing the cost of an Ursinus education via private student and parent loans and payment plans.
