Congratulations to alumnus Andrew Kane (BCMB ’13) for defending his Ph.D. at Harvard

Andrew Kane (BCMB ’13) defended his thesis in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University.

Andrew Kane graduated from Ursinus in 2013. As a sophomore he joined the research lab of Dr. Rebecca Roberts. Five semesters of independent research set him up for the next chapter in his life – pursuing his Ph.D. at Harvard University. His project focused on the regulation of Hsf1 by stress response crosstalk in Saccaromyces cerevisiae. Andrew’s work is helping scientists understand the aging process. One benefit of our new “Zoom culture” is that his Ursinus research mentor, Dr. Roberts, could attend his defense talk virtually. Congratulations Andrew!
