Myrin Hosts a Public Library Card Drive!

Come to Myrin library on Monday, November 21st from 12:30-2:30, Monday November 28th from 4:30-6:30 or Wednesday November 30th from noon-1 to locate your local public library branch, learn about available services, and sign up for a library card! Current Senior English Major Claire Hynes is hosting this initiative as part of her English Capstone course.

As current college students, how much do we really know about our local public libraries? Public libraries are not just somewhere to borrow books, but community spaces as well. When these spaces don’t receive the proper funding to continue to operate, the community suffers. The library holds many free services you may not even be aware of and utilizing them not only benefits you but your local branch as well! Signing up for a library card is the first step in working to address the larger issue of lack of interest and funding.
