Are you interested in learning some basic conversational sign language? Want to know more than just the alphabet? In this short 7-week course, students will be introduced to a variety of ASL vocabulary topics and common phrases. There will also be discussions about the diverse Deaf community. The teacher will focus on introducing language in context and reinforcing what is learned by engaging you in various interactive activities. This conversational curriculum requires you to be an active learner. So, come prepared to put your hands up and turn your voice off.

How to register:

Registration will be on a first come first serve basis with seats reserved for each graduating class. If you want to ensure a seat, please register as soon as possible.

Send a completed add/drop form to Flavia Pietrobattista (fpietrobattista@ursinus.edu), administrative assistant of Modern Languages, by February 1 at the latest.

(Please note that since this is a 1-credit course it does not fulfill Ursinus’s language requirement.)
