Sarah Haughton awarded the Indigenous History Award!

The Education Department congratulates Sarah Haughton on being awarded the Indigenous History Award for her history research project on Native American education. Sarah attended the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society Eastern Pennsylvania Regional Conference at Marywood University, where she presented her paper, “‘Kill the Indian, Save the Man’: How the United States Killed Native American Education and Minnesota’s Efforts to Save It.”

Sarah is a history and educational studies double major. “My experiences in both my history and educational studies classes greatly contributed to this success, and I would like to thank all my professors for being some of my biggest supporters,” she said.
