Last week the Ursinus College Biology Department was represented well at the world’s largest gathering of cell scientists for the 2017 ASCB/EMBO Meeting, hosted by the American Society for Cell Biology and the European Molecular Biology Organization. Eight students, 4 faculty, and 2 Biology Department lab researchers went to the Pennsylvania Convention Center for the conference (Dec. 2-6), which rotates to the City of Brotherly Love about every three years.

April 13, 2015Mike Gasbarro ’15 initiated and carried out a study of fecal bacteria in the lagoons of Ocean City, NJ to ascertain whether or not the lagoons are safe for swimming.

April 10, 2015The class of 2015 and some 2014 graduates will start great programs in the fall. Students are going to medical school, physician’s assistant programs, dental school, pharmacy programs, and masters and doctoral programs.

April 10, 2015Board of Trustee member Will Abele ’61 donated a large amount of laboratory equipment to the Biology Department, while George Cawman ’65 and Katheryn ’66 made a touching donation of cameras in honor of their son.
