Biology

From molecules to ecosystems, biologists seek to understand life at every level.

The Biology department is a supportive community of students, faculty and staff who investigate the principles governing life processes. We help individual students identify their strengths and cultivate their scientific curiosity to develop into scientifically literate and responsible citizens. Our graduates are well prepared for rewarding careers or further studies to pursue medical or graduate degrees.

Our extensive range of courses teach students to think scientifically, communicate effectively, and master fundamental research techniques. Biology students have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty and fellow students to carry out cutting-edge research, and many present their research at local, regional and national conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Students can also participate in a wide variety of internships and unique study abroad experiences.
