Below are answers to some frequently asked questions about our Program.
In addition, we have a document that lists housing, banking, food, and other practical information about living in Collegeville. It can be found here.
Does Ursinus provide housing?
Yes. Students who participate in the REU will receive free on-campus housing with the other REU participants in a house located on Main Street. The air-conditioned house features a common area as well as kitchen.
Can I participate in the REU if I pay my own way?
No. Unfortunately the Ursinus REU program is for supported participants only.
Can I participate if I am graduating in May?
No. You must be an undergraduate student to participate, so students who have gradated are not eligible for the program.
Can I use my REU project as the start of a capstone or senior thesis at my home institution?
Yes.
Do I have to be a US citizen to apply?
Because of NSF rules and regulations, only U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents who will be full time undergraduate students in Fall 2023 are eligible for funding support.
This REU program is supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), grant number 1851948.
