All students must take initiative in this process and are ultimately responsible for securing their internship with the help and guidance of The Philadelphia Experience Team.
Create a strong and compelling resume, if you don’t already have one. To get started, review Career and Post-Graduate Development’s Resume Writing Guide and Samples.Have your resume reviewed by a Career Advisor before sending it to a potential internship employer.
Reflect thoughtfully on what you would like to do and the types of internships you would consider. What type of internship will complement your academic studies and your experience in Philadelphia? Keep an open mind- Consider WHAT you would like to do before considering WHERE you want to do it. For example, if you are interested in communications, internships in this field can be found in a variety of industries/organizations.
Research and Apply for Internships
Start by searching for internships in Handshake . You can search by location, industry, and job function. We have identified some employers as good prospects for PhillyX internships. These can be identified by searching the label “Philadelphia Experience” under internships as pictured below. Important Note: As this is a pilot program and many employer partners are still determining their internship needs for next semester, please check back regularly for additions.
