First Year
- Do well in coursework.
- Attend events sponsored by HPAC, BAPS, and MAPS.
- Attend small group sessions in the spring with Dr. Bailey, and consult on any questions you may have.
- Consider clinical and volunteer experiences for the winter and summer breaks.
Sophomore
- Do well in coursework.
- Attend events sponsored by HPAC, BAPS, and MAPS.
- Attend meeting with sophomores in the spring with Dr. Bailey, and consult on any questions you may have.
- Set up clinical and volunteer experiences for the winter and summer breaks.
Junior – Fall Semester
- Do well in coursework.
- Attend meeting for juniors with Dr. Bailey, and consult on any questions you may have.
- Notify Dr. Bailey about your intention to apply for programs in the ensuing summer; this notification will lead to the appointment of your HPAC adviser.
- Meet with your HPAC adviser to discuss your record and plans.
- Pre-register for fall courses and consider taking a lighter courseload, if possible.
- Sign up for an exam help course (if desired).
- Provide Mrs. Scharneck in the Biology department with names of your recommenders.
Junior – Spring Semester
- Do well in coursework.
- Study for graduate exams, taking a prep course if needed.
- Meet with your HPAC adviser regularly.
- Begin composing your personal statement.
- Set up clinical and volunteer experiences for the winter and summer breaks.
- Sign up for your mock interview with HPAC members and conduct interview.
- Take your graduate exam (MCAT, GRE, DAT, etc.).
- Check with recommenders that letters have been submitted.
- Submit signed recommendation waiver to Mrs. Scharneck.
Junior – Summer
- Complete applications as soon as the application services allow.
