Have you ever had an idea and didn’t know how to proceed? Have you always wanted to enter a competition, but didn’t feel like you had the time? Rock-a-thon is for you!
Rock-a-thon is a 15 hour event where you will work with other students to “rock a problem” and then present or “pitch” the solution to a panel of outsiders. You work through a defined process (that we will give you) to help you clearly state the problem, validate that it is truly a problem worth solving, create a solution that is different than what currently exists and is tailored to meet the needs of the people affected by the problem and present your solution in a concise and engaging manner.
There are outside mentors available to help you move your ideas forward. The afternoon will be spent creating the business/mission model (very simply), preparing the draft presentation, practicing and presenting. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks all along the way to feed the process! Best of all there are CASH PRIZES for all!!! $1,000 for First Place, $750 for second place, $500 for third and a consolation cash prize for everyone that participates!
Congratulations to the winners of the 2018 Rock-a-Thon
