What is the Housing Preference Questionnaire?
The Housing Preference Questionnaire is an online form used as a guide by the Residence Life staff in room and roommate assignment process. It should be filled out by all incoming first-year students. Please answer the questions as honestly as possible. If you have a specific person in mind as a roommate, please note that everyone needs to request each other perfectly on the questionnaire in order for the match process to work. It is each student’s responsibility to confirm roommate preferences prior to completing this form. You may log into the survey multiple times to make changes.
Students must complete the HPQ no later than Sunday, June 9, 2018 at 11:59 PM. Students who do not complete the form on time will be placed on a wait list and assigned to rooms after other students in the class.
If you have a medical condition or disability that you believe impacts your housing, send supporting documentation to Shammah Bermudez, Director of Disability Services in The Ursinus Institute for Student Success by Monday, June 10th at 11:59 PM, at firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to 610-409-3731.
Residence Life staff will send an email to your Ursinus email account by June 28, 2019 with your room assignment and contact information for your roommate(s). We encourage you to contact your roommate(s) prior to your arrival on campus. Please remember that we do not make room changes over the summer.
Accessing the Housing Preference Questionnaire
You will need to enter your username and password in order to fill out your form. Your user name is the first part of your Ursinus email address (do not include “@ursinus.edu”) and your password is the same as you use to access email. Do not enter your full Ursinus email address to log in - you must only enter the portion that contains your name. If you have questions, please view the video below to watch a walkthrough of the HPQ.
How to access the HPQ

About First Year Housing
The Residence Life staff at Ursinus College strives to provide you with a positive and educational living environment that will serve as your home away from home. First-year students live together within various residence halls on campus. This allows you to live in close proximity to other students who are experiencing the celebrations and challenges of college life for the first time, just like you. Resident Advisors are student leaders who are carefully selected to live and work with first-year students. Additionally, the Assistant Director for First-Year Centers devotes particular attention to community development efforts and programs for this community.
You will see the First-Year Centers, learn about our community values, and start discussing how we should live together on our campus when you attend May Orientation. After Orientation, you’ll have the opportunity to convey your living and roommate preferences to our staff. Most first-year students live in double or triple rooms, so you should plan to have a roommate!
Students who complete the Housing Preference Questionnaire (HPQ) on time will receive their housing assignment and roommate information by July 1. Click here to learn more about what to bring your first year.
