The Wellness Center is starting a therapy group entitled ‘Distress Tolerance’. We are looking to provide interested students with a workshop that consists of 4 one-hour-long sessions. The objective of these four workshop sessions is to create a safe space in which students can learn and develop stress management and resilience strategies for navigating current stressors.
This group is a good fit for students who experience difficulty with overwhelming anxiety, emotions, and other forms of psychological discomfort.
Group members are encouraged to participate in all four sessions but are allowed to drop in and out as necessary.
Topics we intend to cover are outlined below:
We are hoping to hold our first meeting within the week of October 22. Specific start dates and times are pending and dependent on availability and level of interest from students. Should you have further questions or an interest in clarifying the above information, please contact The Wellness Center at email@example.com / 610-409-3100.
Do you identify as trans, gender non-conforming, or gender-questioning?
Want to share your experience with fellow students who do too?
We’re starting a Wellness group to do just that!
Ursinus’s Wellness Center invites you to join our Trans Support Group. Ursinus students who identify as transgender, gender non-conforming, questioning, or other gender variant identity are welcome to join this is a student-centered support group. We will come together to explore gender identity and support one another on the issues that may impact trans college students.
We are hoping to hold our first meeting within the week of October 22 and will aim to run through the remainder of the Fall 2018 semester. Regarding specific dates and times, we will attempt choose a recurring weekday and time that will accommodate as many interested students as possible. We are asking for a commitment to attend all groups this semester with the understanding that situations do arise where you may need to be absent. All sessions are free and confidential.
Please email Kristen English, PsyD at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a pre-group meeting to discuss whether this group matches your needs!
Ursinus wants students to have every opportunity to pursue a great idea, so we set aside funds specifically for student research and creativity. You can apply for up to $400 per year for supplies for research and/or a creative project. See the Research Funding and Resources website, and contact Kelly Sorensen for more information.
