The Ursinus Wind Ensemble goes “Pop!” for this Spring concert of showtunes, movie music, and other surprises under the baton of director Harry Oehler. This concert will also feature student soloists, small chamber groups and a jazz combo performance.
Under the direction of Nicole Snodgrass, the choir will be performing a diverse variety of music, including a piece by acclaimed African American composer Marques Garrett and arrangements of songs by Cyndi Lauper and Bob Dylan.
Director Melinda Rice and the Ursinus String Ensemble explores the rigorous, robust, and highly satisfying string classic, Gustav Holst’s Saint Paul Suite, and pairs it with music that has been referenced in the films of Wes Anderson.
