National Science Foundation to fund Students to Present Research at American Chemical Society

Dr. Rebecca Roberts has been awarded supplemental funding from the National Science Foundation that will allow her and Dr. Samantha Wilner (Chemistry) to bring up to eight students to the American Chemical Society national meeting this spring. The students will present their research findings on determining the function of enzymes that have known structure but no assigned function. The students carried out the research as part of the Biochemistry Authentic Scientific Inquiry Lab (BASIL) at Ursinus. Students enrolled in BCMB452W (Biochemistry 2) and BCMB429W (Structural Biology) work in teams to carry out computational and traditional biochemistry experiments in this project.
