April 21 - CoSA 2020 Begins Thursday, April 23

Dear Campus Community,

This year, our annual Celebration of Student Achievement (CoSA), a beloved Ursinus tradition held every spring, will for the first time be presented to you in a dynamic online format.

CoSA is traditionally a wonderful day-long event filled with camaraderie, excitement, academic successes and Ursinus pride. This year, we are bringing that same spirit and commitment to a new virtual environment in the digital commons over the course of one week. It begins Thursday, April 23, and runs through Thursday, April 30. Student presentations, posters and performances will all be accessible to the Ursinus community online and several projects will also be shared with the public.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • In order to participate and view student work, create a digital commons account. Instructions are available on the CoSA page.
  • Some presentations, posters and performances will be accessible beginning April 23, but additional content will be added throughout the course of the week. Visitors are encouraged to check the site every day until Thursday, April 30.
  • A list of available presentations, posters and performances that are “live” on the site on any given day will be available via the CoSA webpage.
  • Approximately 80 student projects will be on view throughout the week.
  • It will be interactive! Leave comments and feedback for students, their faculty mentors and other viewers just as you would in person.
  • Traditionally, classes are not held during CoSA, but due to the virtual format and our continued online learning, class activities will continue.

Presentations will include:

  • Two prize-winning dance performances from students and faculty that were performed at the Mid-Atlantic North Regional Conference of the American College Dance Association (ACDA)
  • A “living newspaper” presented by students with Assistant Professor of Theater Meghan Brodie.
  • An online event representing the “hunger banquet” by Sylvia Grove, visiting assistant professor of modern languages.
  • The winners of the annual Richard T. Schellhase ’45 Essay Prize in Ethics.

Please join us during CoSA week to support of our students and the hard work they’ve performed over the course of the academic year. See you online!

Sincerely,

The CoSA Organizing Team
