Berman Conversation

Artist Francis Cape

Cari Freno, Assistant Professor of Art at Ursinus College

Details

The Berman Museum is pleased to announce the next in its Berman Conversations series in conjunction with Real Estate: Dwelling In Contemporary Art. Please join us January 31st at 6PM for a conversation between artist Francis Cape and Professor Cari Freno at Ursinus College.

The Berman Conversation series pairs exhibiting artists with Ursinus faculty members for a dynamic exchange of interests and ideas.

Following nearly a decade of architectural interventions that addressed the inseparability of art from its context, Francis Cape turned to projects that confront issues outside the studio and gallery circuit. Spurred by the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina as well as by the economic decay of his own community, Cape’s work explores the connection between art, the environment, and social change.
