Heefner Memorial Organ Recital: Karen Christianson

Christianson is a 2018 of graduate Harvard College in Cambridge, Mass., and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in musicology at University of Durham in England. She began her organ studies at age 8 with Ursinus organist Alan Morrison, chair of the organ department at the Curtis Institute of Music.

Christianson has given more than 60 solo recitals at some of the most prestigious venues in North America and Europe. She has performed extensively in England, including at Gloucester Cathedral, Coventry Cathedral, Norwich Cathedral and Ely Cathedral. Last year, she performed her second solo recital at Westminster Abbey, where she made her London debut in 2013 at age 17. She has been featured in regional and national radio broadcasts, including “From the Top” on National Public Radio.
