Innovation and Discovery Center Dedication Ceremony

The entire community is invited to celebrate the grand opening and dedication of the new Innovation and Discovery Center, a 42,500-square-foot space and the primary hub of scientific research and cross-disciplinary learning for Ursinus’s students.

Joe DeSimone ’86, who leads Carbon, a company he co-founded that is developing new 3D printing technology, will be among those presenting about revolutionary technologies that will be brought to life in IDC classrooms. DeSimone is known for his achievements in developing and commercializing advanced technologies in several cutting-edge fields such as 3D printing, precision medicine, nanoparticle fabrication and green chemistry. 

12:30 p.m.  Dedication Ceremony and Reception
Formal dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting, followed by reception with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.

2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Celebration and Tours
Guided tours of the building with stations, featuring presentations that highlight all the IDC has to offer. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be available at each station.
