About the speaker
Donna Yates is professor in the department of Criminal Law and Criminology at Maastricht University. With a background in archaeology of the Andes and law degrees and credentials, Yates is uniquely positioned to examine, reveal, and critique the transnational movement of objects from Latin America (and globally) within what she has called a shifting legal landscape. She has established multiple digital projects (linked on the website) related to the illicit trafficking of cultural objects, the histories of stolen objects, and collecting practice.
