It’s an exciting time to return to your roots. What better way to celebrate than to make a long weekend of it with your favorite UC friends!
Thursday kicks off the festivities with the opening of the Berman Museum of Art Fall Exhibitions - Tyger, Tyger: Lynn Chadwick and the Art of Now and Aftermath: Photographs by Joel Meyerowitz. These exhibits will also be accompanied by a series of dance and theater pieces staged in the Berman titled On the Brink of Now, by junior and senior seminar students. The work will explore relationships and experiences in the Art of Now.
Friday begins by honoring the academic tradition of inquiry and innovation at Ursinus with a series of short, dynamic talks by faculty members, students and invited guests. After the morning sessions, we’ll watch history in the making at the Inauguration of Brock Blomberg as the 17th president of Ursinus! All are invited to enjoy a luncheon prior to the installation ceremony.
On Saturday, celebrate Homecoming with a bang! All of your favorite traditions are back. Cheer on volleyball, football, field hockey and men’s soccer, have your face painted with the kids, listen to a public reading of The Lantern, jam to the UC Jazz Band or enjoy performances at Café Nia.
Whether you’re celebrating a reunion or back to see old friends, don’t forget to swing by our official Ursinus tailgate, Bears’ Brews and Bites! Organizational reunions gathering this year are gymnastics, golf, soccer, track &field, basketball, Alpha Phi Epsilon, Beta Sigma Lambda, Pi Omega Delta, Omega Chi and Upsilon Phi Delta, Meistersingers, GSA/LGBTQIA and Sankofa Umoja Nia.
Class reunions for 2010 and 2005 will also be celebrated throughout the weekend. Friday, reconnect with classmates at the Reunion Cocktail Party in the Berman. If you can’t make it back Friday evening, there is a 5th – 40th Class Reunion Brunch on Saturday morning.
There’s something for everyone as we celebrate old friends and ring in a new era for Ursinus. For more information on the events throughout the week, visit the online schedule of events or register online!
