Who we serve: Children aged 5-14 facing adversity in Chester County.
What we do: Barnstone Art for Kids pairs children with mentors in small groups to deliver a trauma-informed resilience program called the Power of Art.
Why we do it: Children with multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences suffer poor physical, emotional, and behavioral health outcomes.
The Power of Art Program is a full-year curriculum program divided into 5 blocks that each meet for 6 consecutive weeks. Mentors may commit to one or more blocks, but should be available to attend each scheduled day. Our Monday program begins September 18th, 2017 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. Tuesday programs begin September 19th, 2017 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. and 6:30-8:00 p.m. Training is required.
