Digital Commons Milestone Reached
A photograph from the Ursinusiana collection, “Laying the Cornerstone of Bomberger Hall,June 25, 1891” marked the 1000th item to be uploaded to Ursinus College’s institutional repository, Digital Commons@Ursinus. The photo records a pivotal moment in Ursinus history and features benefactor Robert Patterson, acting President Henry Super and professors Samuel Vernon Ruby and J. Shelly Weinberger among others. Photos from the College Archives are being digitized for preservation and many will be added to the repository in anticipation of the upcoming sesquicentennial celebration.
Administered by the Library, the repository serves as a permanent digital archive providing centralized access to Ursinus research, publications, historical materials and special collections.
