Romano Co-Chair of World Congress in Philosophy

Professor of Philosophy and Humanities Carlin Romano was named a Co-Chair of the 24th World Congress of Philosophy in Beijing, 2018

The Federation Internationale des Societes de Philosophie (FISP) the international organization of philosophical societies that has sponsored the World Congress of Philosophy every five years since 1900, has named Ursinus Professor of Philosophy and Humanities Carlin Romano a co-chair of the 24th World Congress to be held in Beijing, China, in August, 2018.

In that role, Prof. Romano, author of the widely reviewed America the Philosophical (2012), will join other co-chairs in evaluating submitted papers from around the world and organizing the program.

World Congresses of Philosophy, the last of which was held in Athens in 2013, draw several thousand philosophers from scores of countries. The official languages of the Congress are English, French, German, Spanish, Russian and Chinese.
