Ursinus alum Nina Petry, who graduated in Spring 2016 with a major in English with a minor in Finance, is working as a Graduate Business Analyst at Aberdeen Asset Management in Philadelphia, PA.
Graduate Business Analysts are part of a two-year program consisting of several four-month rotations. Currently, Nina is working with the Equities team following a rotation in Marketing.
In Marketing, Nina edited and finalized nearly 40 investment literature pieces that covered Aberdeen’s investable funds, specific asset classes and global markets at large. She also helped to develop brand new presentations and infographics, and even got the chance to use her language skills by translating a few marketing materials to Portuguese and Spanish.
Within the Equities team, Nina conducts rigorous research into companies and their industries to assess their long-term potential. As part of the assessment process, Nina participates in meetings and calls with company managers to determine the fundamental value of the businesses in which Aberdeen does or may invest. She uses her research to develop pointed questions that will uncover all the upside potential and downside risks of a company.
In addition, Nina is working with Aberdeen to increase the number of women in the company by promoting their summer internship program to women at Ursinus. On Tuesday, November 4th, Nina will be taking part an information session for Ursinus students from 12-1pm.
