Psychology Conference at UPenn

On November 14, 2017 Dr. Vanessa Volpe co-facilitated a breakout session revolving around safe spaces as part of The Steve Fund’s “Young, Gifted, and @Risk” symposium. This annual symposium (held at the University of Pennsylvania) is the only meeting of its kind which specifically focuses on the mental health and emotional well-being of students of color. This symposium attracts 300 scholars, campus administrators, mental health practitioners, students, community members, and families. In addition to Dr. Volpe’s participation in this symposium, four talented Ursinus student-leaders - Toria Abbott, Alexa Beacham, Bryanna Jones, and Susana Zelaya Rivera - actively participated in the symposium during which they networked with leading scholars in the field.
