Shut Up, I Made Giraffes: Justice And Creativity In The Book Of Job

In Fall 2016, novelist Dara Horn provided a look at the contemporary significance of the Book of Job.

In addition to being an award-winning novelist and two-time Jewish Book Award winner, Horn holds a Ph.D. in comparative literature from Harvard University. She has taught at Harvard as the Gerald Weinstock Visiting Professor of Jewish Studies. Horn’s first novel, In the Image (2002), includes a contemporary retelling of the Book of Job. Her third novel, All Other Nights (2009), was selected as an Editors’ Choice in The New York Times Book Review and was one of Booklist’s 25 Best Books of the Decade.
