“GOLDen” Opportunities for Graduates
The Office of Career and Post-Graduate Development (CPD) has always promoted a wealth of opportunities for students at Ursinus. In fact, many of us likely visited multiple times during our Collegeville years. What some of you may not know is that the CPD Office offers tons of resources to alumni as well! Here are just a few ways UC can continue to help you in your career journey.
Online Resources
Handshake
What was previously known as UC CareerNet is now known as Handshake! This is the college’s career management system. It contains full-time jobs from all over the country, many of which are specifically meant for GOLDs. You can also use this system to schedule the career advising appointments mentioned above. To create an account, you can visit CPD’s website.
CareerShift
CareerShift is a job search tool that helps you narrow your search based on a wide variety of filters. It can find jobs directly tied to your interests as well as connect you to organizations that can help you with networking. It even has resources for resume and cover letter creation. Check it out at: http://www.careershift.com/?sc=ursinus
LinkedIn Ursinus College Alumni Group
Ursinus has an alumni group on LinkedIn that has over 3,000 members. Anyone affiliated with Ursinus can join, and members are vetted to ensure that they all have a connection to the school. In this group you will find postings about job opportunities and career fairs! Visit the site here.
Connecting Opportunities
Career Advising
Every Ursinus alumna/us has access to the professional career counselors in the CPD. These counselors can help review your resume, conduct a mock interview, discuss career options and much more. If you are no longer living in the greater Philadelphia area, no problem! Alumni can take part in advising appointments either in person, by video or by phone.
Career Fair
There are multiple opportunities for GOLDs to get involved with Ursinus’s Career Fair. If you are a graduate who is looking for a new position, all job-seekers are welcome to attend. If you are currently employed, you can come to the career fair as an employer! If you want more information on the Career Fair, email or read about the recent job fair!
Externship program
If you are an alumna/us looking to give back, the CPD is always looking for alumni willing to offer job shadowing opportunities. These experiences would be a 2-5 day job shadow during the college’s winter or spring break. More details on this program are available on the CPD website.
